Maha-Sivaratri
The devotees of Sri Narasingha Caitanya Matha observed
Maha-Sivaratri in a simple fashion on February 19th.
In the evening arati was offered to Gopesvara
Mahadeva and B.V. Giri Maharaja spoke on the personality
of Lord Siva, the great devotee of Krsna and the role
that he plays in the Lord's pastimes.
Gopesvara was decorated with many garlands and bilva-leaves and the maha-prasadam of Sri Sri Radha-Madhava was offered to him and honored by the asrama devotees.
Appearance
of Prabhupada Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura
The
Appearance of Sri Srimad Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati
Thakura was observed at Sri Narasingha Caitanya Matha
on 11th February.
Puspanjali and arati were offered in the morning to Srila Sarasvati Thakura followed by a class given by the matha sannyasis. Srila Visnu Maharaja spoke from Srila Bhakti Pramoda Puri Maharaja's 'Of Love And Separation' and read about various pastimes in the life of Srila Sarasvati Thakura. B.V. Giri Maharaja read Srila Sarasvati Thakura's 'Upadesavali - a collection of his various instructions to his disciples. The devotees also glorified Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Prabhupada by singing Srila Prabhupada-vandana, Sri Srila Prabhupada-pada-padma Stavaka and Ohe Vaisnava Thakura. At midday there was a feast which was honored by all the residents of the asrama.
Sri
Nityananda-trayodasi
Devotees at Govindaji Gardens celebrated the auspicious
appearance of Sri Nityananda Prabhu on Wednesday 4th
February. A painting of Lord Nityananda was placed
on the Vyasasana and decorated with garlands before
the devotees sang bhajanas in praise of Lord Nityananda.
Then some of the sannyasis that were present spoke
on Nityananda-tattva.
Srila Visnu Maharaja spoke first on the special mercy of Lord Nityananda and the merciful qualities of the great devotees of the Lord. Sripada Bhakti Ananda Avadhuta Maharaja also spoke on the merciful aspect of Sri Nityanananda Prabhu and His deliverance of Jagai and Madhai. Sripada Bhakti Vijaya Narasimha Maharaja recited and explained some of the verses from Srila Sridhara Maharaja's Sanskrit composition 'Nityananda Dvadasakam'.
At midday there was an excellent feast and all the devotees and the many guests that attended felt great joy honoring the remnants of Sri Nityananda Prabhu.
Decoration
of Kirtana Hall
For the last month H.H. Bhakti Ananda Avadhuta Maharaja
has been spending many hours decorating the kirtana
hall at Govindaji Gardens. He was also assisted by
visiting devotees such as Gaura Govinda Prabhu and
Drdha-vrata Dasa. Now, the kirtana hall is resplendent
with large paintings of peacocks all around. Maharaja's
next project will be the decoration of Srila Prabhupada's
puspa-samadhi and Lord Narasimha's temple.

by Sripada B.V. Narasimha Maharaja and Observance
of Sri Varaha-dvadasi
Sripada Bhakti Vijaya Narasimha Maharaja, a disciple
of Om Visnupada Sri Srimad Bhakti Pramoda Puri Gosvami
Maharaja, visited Govindaji Gardens on 2nd February.
Maharaja kindly helped with some research and translation
work from Bengali into English during his stay.
The asrama devotees requested Maharaja to give class on the holy occasion of Sri Varaha-dvadasi, the appearance day of Varahadeva. Maharaja read from the 5th Canto of Bhagavatam and explained the commentaries of different acaryas on the prayers of Bhumi-devi to Lord Varaha. He also spoke extensively on the contribution of Srila Prabhupada Sarasvati Thakura and Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura to Gaudiya Vaisnavism.

Guru Prasada Swami Visits Govindaji Gardens
H.H.
Guru Prasada Swami Maharaja visited Govindaji Gardens
on Saturday 31st January and stayed for three days.
While at the asrama Maharaja engaged in many nice
philosophical discussions with the devotees. On Sunday
morning Maharaja gave class and spoke about humility
and cooperation between Vaisnavas. He said that we
should have the humility to accept that we are wrong
and even if we belong to a large organization, we
should accept correction from any Vaisnava who actually
understands the truth.
During his stay, Maharaja also visited Melkote, the
famous holy tirtha associated with Sri Ramanujacarya.

Vasanta
Pancami
Vasanta-pancami is the first day of Spring and in
Govindaji Gardens, the mango buds are blossoming in
profusion and new flowers are blooming. To celebrate
this event, it is the tradition that Deities in Vrndavana
are dressed in yellow and decorated with many flowers,
green leaves and new shoots.
The pujaris dressed Sri Sri Radha-Madhava in a gorgeous yellow outfit and decorated Them with many garlands which were made by the asrama devotees. At noon, Their Lordships were offered a wonderful feast which was honored by all the devotees.
Vasanta-pancami is also the holy appearance day of Srimati Visnupriya Thakurani, Sri Pundarika Vidyanidhi, Srila Raghunatha Dasa Gosvami, Srila Raghunandana Thakura, and it is the disappearance of Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura.

Sri Narasingha Chaitanya Matha is pleased to announce

is a thought provoking book and promises to be of

was screened on Triangle TV on Sunday 4th January
at 1:30 pm.
