Srila Sridhara Maharaja advises us to recognize and address our our own faults through deep self-analysis to overcome suffering caused by misused freedom. The first misuse of our free will lead us away from divine connection and into material entanglement. Freedom, though vulnerable to misuse, is a precious gift from God that allows for immense spiritual gain when utilized correctly. To achieve freedom from material entanglements, one must remain in the company of the spiritually advanced (sādhu-saṅga) and under proper guidance. By being situated under proper guidance one may be able to help others, otherwise one only spreads one's ignorance to others.
